St mawes Cornwall UK|
Lightly used Laser 2000, bought new in 2001 from the Southampton boat show (invoices available) and used 2 weeks a year during holidays in Falmouth area.
Boat managed by professional and stored indoors in a dry boat yard from September to June each year. And on a secure sailing club quay during summer months.
Just fitted a brand new mast and new extra deep skirt cover. Excellent condition. Comes with car pulling trailer and launching trolley- both with new wheels.
The Laser 2000 is one of the best asymmetric boats to learn on, comparable to an RS200 but more roomy. Once you're ready to race there is a very active Class Association and you can find many clubs with them, both inland and on the sea. If you're not familiar with modern asymmetric rigs, one halyard raises the spinnaker and launches the bowsprit, or pulls the whole lot back in again very neatly. The design also has slab reefing on the main and a furling jib.
'Blew' is a very good example with mainsail, jib sheets, spinnaker sheet, ropes, brand new mast and new boat cover. Trailer and trolley.
A high boom provides plenty of headroom whilst the self-draining cockpit keeps the crew dry and drains quickly should the boat capsize.
The 2000 has established an enviable record as a resilient and versatile design; docile and forgiving for novices yet an exhilarating sail for more advanced sailors.
